She seems quite good at perching. Got the feet for it. [He pulls a few more pieces off to add to a tower and then stops.] I guess I ought to find somewhere else to get building materials if there's going to be a table out there anyway.

Yeah. Might as well. We'll head up to the roof, find the unnecessary bits. [She lays aside her wall taking down bits and stands up, glancing at him.] Should be able to find somethin'.

[He hops up and dusts himself off and goes a bit bouncy because everything is Lego and it's just hard not to be bouncy. Towards the door.] There don't seem to be enough reds and yellows to finish these anyway. I wonder how many of these things I can fit in my pockets. Haven't had a chance to test the internal dimensions in a while! Well, not of these.

[She pops over to the kitchen and grabs a reusable grocery sack] Just in case they don't quite work as well here [She grins at him and takes his hand, just as bouncy for the same reasons. It's hard not to be bouncy with Legos. Especially, when clearly, this curse was done just for them.]

[Entirely reasonable and with marked amounts of forethought. Or at least I-don't-want-to-walk-up-and-down-stairs-more-than-I-have-to-thought. The hand holding is entirely necessary under the circumstances, and he starts towards the roof basically immediately.] They'd better work. Well, I mean, they do work, I just haven't tested to see how well. Makes it very difficult to pull the specific thing you're looking for when you put too much in.

[They're them. Isn't the hand holding always necessary?]

End up pullin' out bits of wire and string and bananas instead, yeah?

[She's seen him try to pull specific things out of his pockets.]

If you can get it in your pocket, it'll hold it, right? Shoulda had you 'round when Cherise and me were shopliftin' years ago.

[Well, yes. That too.]

Exactly. More often peels than bananas but at this point after the last time I found food in my pockets I'm really working on not carrying such perishables around again. Makes for a nasty laundry day.

[He makes a face at her about that, and then a slightly different one for her own comment.] I'm not sure how I feel about being used for petty larceny. [As though he doesn't do it when he feels like it anyway.] What were you taking?

[She wrinkles up her nose, making an eww face at that.]

Since I end up doin' most of your laundry, I'd appreciate that. [Also since she ends up wearing his things a good deal of the time around the house, he's likely to find girly odds and ends in his pocket: lip gloss, hair ties, that sort of thing.]

We were sixteen. Lip gloss and mascara. Nothin' shockin'. Oh Cherise stole a pregnancy test once. Made me be the distraction. Nearly got caught. That was a nightmare.

I'll work even harder to eat all my food from here on out. Just for you. [He doesn't mind carrying a few of her things around. It's a nice 'oh hey Rose is here' reminder all the time, even if pulling out lip gloss by accident might get him a few odd looks on occasion. (Well, actually, maybe not any more than any of the things he means to pull out.)

See now that makes him go a little scrunchy.] Not really the sort of thing you can give back and apologise.

[He pushes open the door to the roof with a bit more gusto than is likely required, but it's nice outside and he hops over to the edge to look at everything else around them all in Lego.] Oh, this is beautiful!

[Good point on all thoughts. She does like leaving him little reminders of that so it's possible she does that on purpose. Bit like her leaving her clothes strung around the TARDIS on occasion. She laughs and shakes her head at the first comment.]

Not really. Might have made her pay for it though.

[Once outside on the edge of the building, she goes up on her toes--because that extra inch or so is very important for seeing Legoland--and a huge grin races across her face.]

All the bright colors. Really ought to just leave it like this.

[He'd try to do the same for her - if he ever thought about it - but her pockets aren't dimensionally transcendental, nor does he really think she'd appreciate having stethoscopes or little wind up rats or bits of machinery in hers.

He grins when she gets near and leans a bit over the half wall that's supposed to keep you falling off the thing.] Yeah. Be a bit more weak to any sort of natural disaster. Which here means curses. Though easier to rebuild afterwards I suppose. I kinda like it. All the paths and such feel cobblestoned; fun to walk on.

[Well bits of machinery wouldn't be bad if they were small bits of machinery.

She won't lean too close to the wall because it is made of Legos but close enough. She wiggles her bare toes at his comment.]

Yeah, it does. 'Specially in bare feet. Could make your feet sore after standin' on it a while though. Leave little lego imprints on 'em.

[He giggles a little.] Most apt use of the term 'product placement' anyone'll ever be able to use. Any one with fire'd ruin everything though. BUT, even on the plus side to that there'd be some cool new art deco type modernist, contemporary, art to come out of it. 'What was once a chair and table with book atop is now one' and there's some sort of tabley-bookish-chair coloured blur or blob of obejcts on the ground, having melted into something new.

Big fire'd give us a whole museum of new art. [She considers it with her bottom lip tucked between her teeth.]

Guess we're eatin' cold cuts today. Think I can handle that.

Are we? Not that I have a problem with that. Oh, is the fridge lego as well? I hadn't checked. Probably should've. [He turns back to the roof, back against the wall, and surveys the surroundings.] Shed, medium, not likely full or housing anything important, antennae, best leave that, vents, best leave those, little square... things, up for grabs, thermostat stuff, leave alone... And the rest's all good for the taking! [He starts to put little bricks in his pockets, inspecting each one as he does to check it for imperfections or whathave you.]

Didn't check either. Just figured, shouldn't start a fire on the stove, y'know? Could probably find some place to eat that isn't lego but m'not sure what fun that'd be. [Rose follows his lead, letting go of his hand to start taking apart and picking up legos. She puts hers in her bag because her pockets are just pockets and jean pockets at that. Not much room to stuff a lego in. Well, not much room since her jeans tend to be snug.]

Yeah, probably a good idea. Dunno about you but I'm not personally a big fan of plastic in my food. Very tangy, bitter flavouring. And crunchy when it oughtn't be. That's probably the more disorienting, but I'm not actually sure which one is worse. [Yeah that seems a bit uncomfortable possibly, little legos in snug jeans. Sharp corners and such. It doesn't take too long before he's a bit bored with the inspecting but counteracts that by making little shapes out of some of them and then stuffing them away.]

[She scrunches up her nose and shakes her head.] Me either. Prefer my food plastic free.

[Definitely uncomfortable with the sharp corners. Rose is just sort of tossing clumps of Legos into her bag. She's also taken to dismantling the shed that hopefully holds nothing important.]

Ought to have a bag that's like your pockets. Bit Mary Poppins but useful.

Better for your health too.

[He mostly started with weird things that didn't appear as though they were supposed to be on the roof to begin with. One drawback to using pockets is that if you're using clumps you need smaller ones.]

Oh, now I'd love to meet her. Sugar and magical carpetbags and absolutely no need to be enthralled in gravity. Bit didactic but I suppose with small children and Bert around... Well, mostly people like Mr. Banks.

Ought to add that to the list. Go see Mary Poppins. Somewhere between giant roses and touching Van Gogh's paintin's.

Have to find her first. The other two are stationary, at least. Could be a whole adventure unto itself, trying to run into her. Run into a series of more well-behaved children in her wake.

Guess we'd have to find her Universe 'steada a time line? Or has all the universes got Mary Poppins in 'em as a real person? [Pondering a moment.] Well-behaved children wouldn't be so bad.

I don't actually know how many of them she's in; even back when it was possible I didn't make that much of a habit of popping back and forth between universes. Tends to start mixing you up a bit, minor differences between them all. These people won this war here, over there the standard is three chances, in this one purple means-... Well, it can get you into misunderstandings.

Run into a lot of misbehaved children, do you?

Yeah, guess it sorta could. 'Specially if you run into the same people. [She shrugs a bit at that.] Mum had me take Tony to play dates a coupla times. He was too little to be much a problem but some of the older kids were horrid things.

[She looks down at her bag fairly stuffed with legos now.]

Think we might have enough to make a start?

That too. It's very... annoying, when you run into an old friend and they don't recollect you, the friend, or the old part of it.

I wonder why that is. That sort of Bell Curve of bothersomeness.

[Oh, she's got more than he has. Not by much, but. He stuffs a bit more in his pockets really quickly and then breaks off a much bigger chunk to just carry back down in his hands.] Yup! Can always come back up again once these are all in place.
