Let's start with Vampires then. I don't know anything about them outside of the telly.

Okay! So, there's a few different kinds of vampires in the City, since it seems every world with vampires is different. But I can tell you about the vampires from my world, since the more basic rules apply to them.

Sunlight is ultimately deadly, food doesn't taste good, they need to be invited in places...they don't NEED to hunt for blood if they have access to a blood bank or somebody with bagged blood...uh...

Well, Conrad was also incredibly pissy about being a vampire, but hey, he'd be dead otherwise.

You had a vampire for a mate?

Yeah! Conrad was a good pal...he's a grump, though.

That a common trait in vampires?

Well, no. Yes.

I dunno. The vampires I've met are all sort of...emotionally wacked in their own ways. Conrad is just a fussbudget.

Guess being a vampire could do that to you.

Oh, trust me, he was like that before he went vampire.

Oh. Well then, guess it's worth noting that they retain some of their personality from when they're human.

I think they retain all of their personalities...

Really? Sorta always assumed somethin' else took over when a person became a vampire.

Well, I don't know if it varies from person to person or anything. But Conrad is basically the same...just with fangs and a sun allergy now.

So you haven't any experience with other vampires?

Oh, I have. But I didn't know them when they were human.

Are they like Conrad?

Well, they have the same talents, but personality wise...no. They're very, very different.

Guess it's just like every other species in that way. Unless the others were a lot alike and Conrad was the exception.

It's hard to say, to be honest...I think it's just a personality thing more than a species wide vampire thing.

That makes sense. So the sleepin' in coffins bit?

Nope! Beds. But they gotta keep the shades drawn to prevent light coming in from outside. That's the big thing there- blocking out the sun.

So the sunlight bit is true.

Garlic?

I don't think the garlic is true, mostly because they can't eat food anyway.

So what other sorts of beasties do you run into here?

Well, vampires are the most common, oddly enough...and half of the stuff in the Underground, I have no idea how to define them...
