[She's here for the third time, for the first time. Being the other time traveller is difficult. This time he bypasses the 'but how's and just asks:]

When did you get here?

A few min-[She stops because clearly that's not what he's asking.]

The stars are going out. I helped them cannibalize the TARDIS so I could find you but you won't stay still or M'really bad at just missin' you. Donna...I sent Donna back to turn left. There are Dalaks gatherin' people up.

[That answers his 'when' better than 'a few minutes ago']

[Ahh, he remembers that. He tries to make a sort of 'oh' face but nods a little and effectively undermines himself. Bit too recent to really make a good go at pretending.]

I've been a bit all over the place, yeah. Except recently - I've just been... Here. So-- you cannibalised the TARDIS?

[ooc: Have a little head canon since we don't have clear canon on all of it]

I was working for Torchwood when UNIT found her. You'd died in an alternate universe. They couldn't open her but I had a key. Told 'em I'd open her if they'd let me help. That's how I ended up working for UNIT.

[She bites her bottom lip, pulling it between her teeth before she continues.]

It was the only way to find you and to set everything straight. We hooked into the heart of the TARDIS and used it to track you, to jump dimensions and to set things right.

[There's some guilt about this whole thing.]

She was dyin' without you anyway. We needed to make things right.. I needed--we needed to find you. [No, she was right when she said 'I']

[I love head!canon.]

Oh. Well. [Okay, he hadn't known he'd died. That's... Somehow really awkward to learn.] Well, that's, that's probably okay, yeah. [Awkward. Mildly awkward. But then a grin.] You kept your key.

[Oh good, it fills in the blanks nicely.]

[Sometimes she forgets that he doesn't really know everything simply because he's the Doctor. She probably shouldn't have told him that. She brushes over all the awkward and grins, digging the key out from where it hangs on a chain beneath her shirt and dangles it where he can see it.]

Always. I had to be ready. In case you came back.

[She kept a bag packed for months as well.]

[Bigger grin, even though people waiting on him to come back when he can't or doesn't isn't really ever that fun to consider. But this is Rose and Rose is special and she came back and stuff.] You've got it with you! I mean, it wouldn't be very helpful not to have it with you, not that it's very helpful right now anyway, but still!

[It is always good when he grins. Always and it prompts her to grin back. She's forgotten how her cheeks hurt sometimes around him from all the grinning. It took her a while to adjust, if it can ever be said that she did adjust. After all she tore up who knows how many dimensions finding him.]

I met her. How's that work? With the TARDIS being in a woman. Is it like when I looked into her heart?

[She prepares herself for jealousy because it's the TARDIS and he used to stroke bits of her when it was a police box and now it's a woman...definitely preparing for jealousy.]

[Somehow he's not surprised she already knows.]

It's... Interesting, yeah. Sort of... new. Odd not having her anymore. I mean, she's still here, but it's not the same, obviously. Not the same humming or really anything at all. Hard to sleep without that.

It's sort of like that, what with that having been the sort of seity within the TARDIS, but not quite with the glowing.

[She stops, her voice going soft. There's a lot that she hasn't learned about the City yet.]

Is she dying?

[Not that the TARDIS seemed on the verge of dying.]

I certainly hope not. Why, what has she told you?

Although. She did say her body was already dead. To be honest I've really not got much frame of reference for it.

No. Nothing she said or sounded like.

[Now she's contemplating Zombie!Human!TARDIS. It's a bit much.]

What's the domestic situation then? Without the TARDIS being home.

[He makes a face.] Domestic. Yeah, it's a bit.... Amy and Rory got themselves a flat and said I could stay with them for a bit. Jack and Mercy have been letting me stay for a few days, but it's not.... Right. I don't know.

[She can try the 'TARDIS is home, now home is the TARDIS, what is home now?' thing with his later.]

[Thaaat's a lot of people she doesn't know with the exception of Jack.]

Jack's here? Captain Jack?

So you haven't got any place to stay?

Oh! Yeah, Captain not-really-a-captain Jack is here, yeah.

Well, I'm.. Staying with Mercy and Jack for a bit, although I didn't want to do that forever. Likewise with Amy and Rory. I suppose it'll be one of the apartments or something, I don't know.

Can't stay with other people forever. Maybe we ought to get a flat.

...

Yeah, maybe... we ought to do that. Not a bad idea. Getting a flat. Together.

[The hesitation makes her worry, shifting her weight a bit. She's readying arguments in her head but before she voices them he agrees, which makes a huge smile break across her face.]

Yeah? Be almost like having a mortgage. [She nudges his foot with her toe when she says it.] Not so bad.

[Oh, he definitely pulls a face when she says that.] Augh, no, that is... That is... Mortgages. [It's a good face. Sort of distaste and worry. But he smiles a little in spite of himself with the nudging.] Terrible. But. Better than-- Well, not so bad.

[All the grinning and nudging...they're ridiculous which brings her to oh yeah...the hugging. She flings her arms around his neck and hug time.]

Ought to go find one we can both live with then, yeah? [That's said muffled into his shoulder.]

[They are ridiculous. But it's great. And the hugging! He stumbles a bit but then it's proper hugging all around, with the same twirling thing he did the... last time they met. Ish. He swings her back and forth a little, which made it slightly hard to hear her but it wasn't that difficult to work it out anyway.] Yeah. Yeah, I suppose we ought to.

...I guess being in a flat isn't really the same as being in a house?

[She loves the swingy thing. It makes her do that gleeful, giant smile. She shakes her head a little, hesitant about letting go but flat hunting in this position isn't really practical so she releases him, her hands still on his shoulders, kind of sliding down his arms.]

Got more of a temporary feel to it. You could get up and leave without notice.

[Or something like that.]

[He nods with her words, letting her hands slide down his arms and then slyly catching the one on his right arm in his right hand as it slides off. Hands!]

Yeah, okay. That doesn't sound that different to normal then, really. Get up and go when I-We feel like it. Wander about, not tell a soul. Just like always.

Except for where it's different. But really those are insignificant.

[Her fingers twine with his and she laughs a little]

Insignificant. Just you an' me again.

[Well not just. She doesn't know about Amy or Rory but she does know about the TARDIS and really it's the him and her part that's significant here.]
