[Rose is sitting on the floor in her flat, taking down a Lego wall. Her hair is in pigtails because it seemed appropriate for the curse today. All around her the flat seems to be made of legos--except for the hammock bed, even the City wouldn't mess with the hammock bed.]

How's the rest of the City lookin' 'cause my flat is brilliant. Was just talkin' to the Doctor the other day 'bout planets made of Legos. This is almost as fantastic.

[He giggles a little.] Most apt use of the term 'product placement' anyone'll ever be able to use. Any one with fire'd ruin everything though. BUT, even on the plus side to that there'd be some cool new art deco type modernist, contemporary, art to come out of it. 'What was once a chair and table with book atop is now one' and there's some sort of tabley-bookish-chair coloured blur or blob of obejcts on the ground, having melted into something new.

Big fire'd give us a whole museum of new art. [She considers it with her bottom lip tucked between her teeth.]

Guess we're eatin' cold cuts today. Think I can handle that.

Are we? Not that I have a problem with that. Oh, is the fridge lego as well? I hadn't checked. Probably should've. [He turns back to the roof, back against the wall, and surveys the surroundings.] Shed, medium, not likely full or housing anything important, antennae, best leave that, vents, best leave those, little square... things, up for grabs, thermostat stuff, leave alone... And the rest's all good for the taking! [He starts to put little bricks in his pockets, inspecting each one as he does to check it for imperfections or whathave you.]

Didn't check either. Just figured, shouldn't start a fire on the stove, y'know? Could probably find some place to eat that isn't lego but m'not sure what fun that'd be. [Rose follows his lead, letting go of his hand to start taking apart and picking up legos. She puts hers in her bag because her pockets are just pockets and jean pockets at that. Not much room to stuff a lego in. Well, not much room since her jeans tend to be snug.]

Yeah, probably a good idea. Dunno about you but I'm not personally a big fan of plastic in my food. Very tangy, bitter flavouring. And crunchy when it oughtn't be. That's probably the more disorienting, but I'm not actually sure which one is worse. [Yeah that seems a bit uncomfortable possibly, little legos in snug jeans. Sharp corners and such. It doesn't take too long before he's a bit bored with the inspecting but counteracts that by making little shapes out of some of them and then stuffing them away.]

[She scrunches up her nose and shakes her head.] Me either. Prefer my food plastic free.

[Definitely uncomfortable with the sharp corners. Rose is just sort of tossing clumps of Legos into her bag. She's also taken to dismantling the shed that hopefully holds nothing important.]

Ought to have a bag that's like your pockets. Bit Mary Poppins but useful.

Better for your health too.

[He mostly started with weird things that didn't appear as though they were supposed to be on the roof to begin with. One drawback to using pockets is that if you're using clumps you need smaller ones.]

Oh, now I'd love to meet her. Sugar and magical carpetbags and absolutely no need to be enthralled in gravity. Bit didactic but I suppose with small children and Bert around... Well, mostly people like Mr. Banks.

Ought to add that to the list. Go see Mary Poppins. Somewhere between giant roses and touching Van Gogh's paintin's.

Have to find her first. The other two are stationary, at least. Could be a whole adventure unto itself, trying to run into her. Run into a series of more well-behaved children in her wake.

Guess we'd have to find her Universe 'steada a time line? Or has all the universes got Mary Poppins in 'em as a real person? [Pondering a moment.] Well-behaved children wouldn't be so bad.

I don't actually know how many of them she's in; even back when it was possible I didn't make that much of a habit of popping back and forth between universes. Tends to start mixing you up a bit, minor differences between them all. These people won this war here, over there the standard is three chances, in this one purple means-... Well, it can get you into misunderstandings.

Run into a lot of misbehaved children, do you?

Yeah, guess it sorta could. 'Specially if you run into the same people. [She shrugs a bit at that.] Mum had me take Tony to play dates a coupla times. He was too little to be much a problem but some of the older kids were horrid things.

[She looks down at her bag fairly stuffed with legos now.]

Think we might have enough to make a start?

That too. It's very... annoying, when you run into an old friend and they don't recollect you, the friend, or the old part of it.

I wonder why that is. That sort of Bell Curve of bothersomeness.

[Oh, she's got more than he has. Not by much, but. He stuffs a bit more in his pockets really quickly and then breaks off a much bigger chunk to just carry back down in his hands.] Yup! Can always come back up again once these are all in place.

Sorta like findin' out you're a dog in one Universe. [It's petty but that still smarts.]

They get more mobile and vocal without any sorta manners or social bits I think.

[She follows his lead, breaking off a large chunk and nods as they start back down to the flat.]

Might know better how much we need then.

[Oh. Yeah, that's quite comparable. He laughed the first time but has at least the sense to notice remembering it means he probably ought not at least do it so she can notice this time. Even though it's still funny.]

Ought to have a pretty decent rough estimate anyway. It's a bit funny how often people seem to value what kids say for being so blunt and straightforward and then always seem to turn around and value the taciturn, tactful sorts of people. I mean, if everyone said what they thought all the time nothing would ever get done for all the fighting, but you do need a handful of people to just get on with things.

[At least he learns. It's a very good trait. In appreciation for not laughing, she loops the arm that the bag of legos is on through his arm. The bag kind of bangs between them but it's alright for the short trip down into the flat.]

S'not the bluntness and straightforward that bothers me. It's the sheer amount of screamin' that kids seem to do and kickin' in the shins. Had a little girl kick me in the shins for no decent reason! Yeah, with the right sorta people, could be lotsa fightin'.

Kicking people in the shins - effective but always seems so... random. It's more often someone stomps on your foot if they're angry. Very six year old girl, frilly skirt and pigtails, kicking people in the shins.

[He gets an amused look as she opens the door into the flat. Rose Tyler was probably a shin kicker.]

She was 'bout...four, I think but she had the frilly skirt and pigtails.

[He hasn't been kicked in the shin in ages. Doesn't really run into enough small children for it. She seems like she might have been though. He'll have to avoid aggravating her on grab bag day.]

See, there you are. It's very nearly the equivalent of hair-pulling. Not really a very fair tactic, on the whole.

Fightin' usually involve fair tactics? [Because she's got her doubts about that one.] Girls fight dirty with the hair pullin' and bitin' now matter how old they are.

Well... I suppose it depends on your definition of 'fair'. Normally it just encompasses 'whatever I thought of before you', which depending on who you are can severely limit what's considered fair.

Do they? That seems like an odd... characteristic. Maybe they understand tactics better.

Sorta how I thought it went. [She's giving him that grin with the tip of her tongue between her teeth.]

Y'kiddin'? Girls are masters of tactics. Shove guys 'round and get 'em to do what we want, don't we?

[It's sort of why whenever she's winning he deems it 'cheating' almost immediately.]

Well, I wouldn't... Say that as a rule, no. Entirely speaking. [Although attempting to hide amusement.]

[She grins at him, stepping in front of him and going on tiptoe to press a kiss against his lips.]

Entirely speakin'.
